Algerian National carrier Air Algerie has announced an ambitious expansion program set to take effect by 2018.

- Air Algerie is planning to launch a new program for the acquisition of around 40 aircraft between 2018 and 2025, CEO of the company Mr. Mohammed Abdou bouderbala said.
The implementation of the first part of the purchase plan will be in the period between 2018 and 2020, according to Bouderbala, adding that 2018 the air fleet will be strengthened by four planes, while the second part will be in the period 2020-2025.
This program will allow the company to raise its fleet to about one hundred, which is currently 60 aircrafts, 75% of which fly to medium distance destinations.
In response to a question about the possibility of resorting to foreign financing to realize this purchase plan, the official confirmed that the company required examine all appropriate solutions, “pointing out that this king of foreign funding may be studied”.
